I own a xiaomeme and i've gifted a cuck z2 to my gf and both work without a problem. But i've seen a lot of people having bad experiences with the z2 so It really depends on who you ask.

X compact for 270 euros.

It comes with carrier apps preinstalled but is not locked which means I can use any sim card I want. If I want to get rid of the carrier apps, would it be possible to flash the stock Sony ROM?

>>61244381
Not unless you sideload via xcode and a MacBook.
>>
>>61244407
Yes, flashing the stock ROM should get rid of the carrier apps. You could also give this a try:

Camera

Water resistance
Wireless charging

Battery life

USB-C
Durability (metal vs glass back)
Easier to unlock bootloader, more custom ROMs

I'm planning on buying a G6 to use on AT&T in the next day or two, schedule permitting.
My contract has been for the line and data only as I bought my current phone at retail because it saved me $200+ over what would've been the leasing option. I like most of the features of the G6, but the camera isn't as good as the S8 and this iteration of the G series removed the IR Blaster, which I made excessive use of on my G2. These being my biggest hang-ups, how would I go about negotiating the price of the G6, or do I push for them to throw in a few things like a case/screen protector?

I just want a definite answer as to which phone I should get

OK, clean-slate start:
I want a new phone to replace my broken Galaxy Note 2. It has to work with 4G LTE carriers in the US and it has to have a great price/performance ratio. I would like it to be less than $300, yet feature things found in flagships (USB-C, NFC, etc.) I'd also like the camera to be good.

$600? Were the other sony compact phones that expensive? I wonder if they'll fix the problem with overheating this time. I probably would have gotten the Z compact if it wasn't for that. A lot of important apps in my life (ie Keep) does not show up in my notification bar ever since I updated my OP3 (just a monthly security update).

I tried uninstalling the app, then reinstalling as well as clearing the cache. Doesn't work.

This also occurs with a few different apps while some other apps are still alive and kicking.

Can I ask a dumbass Android question here?
I recently installed Lineage 14.1 on my Zenfone 2, and then flashed stock gapps on top of it. This meant that the AOSP default keyboard was replaced by Gboard, but whenever I opened the settings on it, it crashed. I decided to remove the app with system app remover, and then reinstall from the Play Store. The uninstaller went through, but when I tried to install the APK for Gboard again, it complained about the app already being installed.
Wat do, /g/? I'll delet if off-topic.

It isn't. You could literally leave your phone on the charger for a week and it wouldn't harm the battery.

I haven't fully exercised it. So far I love:

Most devices I've seen lately, even as new as my phone released just a week ago, counsel against leaving a device on the charger for more than 12 hours. Not just cautions, but exclamation-point-in-triangle warnings.
I know lithium-ion charging circuits detect end-of-charge by a negative slope in the battery voltage, which implies a stress condition. A device that's left on the charger continuously might run into that negative delta-V cycle over and over again, wearing the battery or causing a catastrophic condition.

My 5x review almost 6 months ago, same feeling about it today:

Mini review of 5x

Pros:
>still the cheapest bang for your buck outright phone in Canada
>camera and bloat free Android is great
>constant Google updates fix """"problems"""" monthly
>good phone size for one handed use
>videos and text look great
>charging is good / 1-2 hours full 100% if you DON'T use the phone while charging
>upon fresh reboot, phone is the fastest device I've ever held
If rooted:
>easy to root / Pure Nexus ROM + Ex Kernel made my device faster and last longer battery wise
>no reboots necessary, always runs great

Cons:
>overpriced in Canada. Find a friend in the US to buy it for you. I made the mistake to buy it full price at $499, 32GB
>battery does 4hrs SOT tops, with no extensive apps like Pokémon GO or Snapchat
>gets hot as fuck. Slows down if it gets passed 45 degrees C.
>heat will destroy your battery, will not let the phone charge if you've pushed the 5x too much
>plastic build makes it feel cheap as hell Again, get this for the ~$250 US price tag to justify
If rooted:
>battery is still 4hrs SOT
>phone stays WAY cooler, not as many heat issues but Pokémon still kills it

tl;dr I liked it, esp coming from the 5 and didn't want to cash out $700. If in Canada, do NOT buy full retail price from the Google Canada Store. Go for a Newegg or some type of reputable retailer that will sell it to you for the US prices.
I ended up selling it for a decent $450.

Okay so I managed to sell my redmi pro (damaged when I got robbed) to a friend, what is best to get now?
I'm torn between the Mi 5 and the Mi 5c.
Both have good enough network bands and design.
Or should I just wait for the Note 5?
I don't care that much about the Pinecone on the Mi 5c and custom roms, Miui works great,
and I'm a sucker for front physical buttons, and the one in the Rpro was just great.

>one of the worst display I've ever used
>2gb of ram

If you really needed a new phone you'd have bought one already, instead of posting the same questions here again and again, day after day. How the FUCK do you make any decisions inyour life, when it takes this much effort to just buy a new phone?

Ok, several threads later, I think I may just settle for a Moto G5+ (pricematching the 4/64 gb model to $230) Is there anything which has updated support and features things like NFC, USB-C, etc at the same price point?
