Is there a way to fix the safetynet of a phone without having to root it/using magisk or such?
I got a used phone which was rooted and I unrooted it as soon as I got it, since I didn't have any need for that, but now it started giving me troubles with some apps and I noticed that it fails the CTS match. What's the best solution?

Whoever rooted it probably altered the system in some way not detected when (I assume supersu) unrooted itself on your command. The only way to fix this would be restoring system to stock state which requires root or reflashing stock rom.

Unlocked bootloader = safetynet fail

Thanks, I was hoping to avoid reflashing (it's basically a complete reboot if I got that right), but if there are no other ways I will go for that. If you have any guide/site at hand I'd be much oblidged, otherwise I'll look for them myself, no need to spoonfeed me.

...no? My bootloader is unlocked and whenever flashing a new rom, before root it always passes safetynet.

It depends a lot on your phone model. If you do not want root, the only way to restore data is through saved app data on play store / app cloud services. If you are willing to have a rooted phone, Titanium Backup is an option and much more reliable.

mine fails cause it wants to use google

Which rom are you using? LOS?
iirc roms with a custom kernel can pass safetynet without magisk/su

I wish I had LOS. A5 2016 running a rom based on stock touchjizz 7.0. Is this a custom kernel?

How do you test this?

yes
>>

Its an app - SafteyNet Checker
>>
>>61231831
so it basically just test if I have Google Play Services and says "nope"?
Great app.

I mean its useful because it tells you why its failing. It's built in to magisk manager.
