Heavily considering this thing to supplement my MBP/desktop but more importantly because people hate me for using my IPad mini + noisy ass Planck on airplanes.
My questions are for those who have one or played with one - how would it fare as an Ereader? Could I dualboot Linux distros off of a thumb drive (Tails in particular)? With its reported Wifi problems, would I have trouble with using a VPN?
Am I stupid for thinking this could be my pocket library/media player/emulator that I sometimes buy drugs on?

Hard pass.
Between burning four hundred bucks in a trashcan fire and buying this thing - which do you choose?

I NEED IT SMALLER.
I'm looking at getting rid of my IPad entirely, this would replace it ideally.

Hopefully you don't live in the US, considering banning any electronic device larger than a phone (or 16cm x 9.3cm x 1.5cm) keeps getting brought up. Yes, they say it's for international flights but I doubt it would take long to be applied to every flight if it did get enacted. If flying on a plane is the main reason you want one and you live in the US then I'd suggest waiting.

I travel for work regularly, domestically and internationally. This has caused me some concern the more I hear about it but I'm crossing my fingers that it won't come to that.

IPad is almost dead and I want something a little more flexible. Plus I hate typing emails and lengthy posts on various forums using my phone, I'm used to typing on a 40% so I think I could adapt to the small keyboard easily.

Just because I don't jack off on anime figurines doesn't mean I can't frequent this board.
