I don't own any USB-C devices. The rest of my family has iphone 6/7's and even those don't use USB-C. I understand that pushing for it is good, but at least have one usb 3 and/or include adapters for a device so expensive.

The tactility is nice but it's far too shallow. Increasing the key travel could arguably make it one of the best keyboards in a laptop. I don't eat around something so expensive, but if you don't use a keyboard cover, a stray crumb under the key will fuck up this delicate tactility and reduce it to mushy shite. It happened on my brother's, and we couldn't fix it ourselves, so we had to go to the Apple store.

I also think the speaker quality is good, but I don't use the speakers very often. It has above average battery life (I think) and charges faster than I would expect. It's pretty light and feels balanced, but I personally wouldn't sacrifice ports and such for this.

Overall, I definitely would not recommend this laptop. I'm not an expert on laptops, but I'm willing to bet there are better options at similar and even lower price points. If you're that desperate for a macbook, I imagine older models are more desirable than this. I'm not wealthy and very few of my relatives are, so it's just sad that that money was "wasted". Again, I'm trying my best to make use out of it.

Couldn't it be fixed by opening it? It's something I worry about too from time tot time.

Though magsafe was way more gimmicky than the touchbar (adjusting the keys to each app sounds like a much better idea than wasting space with half of the keys that remain unused most of the time) the only reason I miss magsafe is because it was easier to disconnect the laptop. USB C is tight as fuck.

Don't get me wrong, your opinions are perfectly valid but if you'd got used to HomoOS and its greatness, you wouldn't feel like there are alternatives or see it as a waste of money despite the downsides, and yeah, it's pretty expensive for sure.

I wouldn't want to fuck with unscrewing something that expensive and it's probably not meant to be unscrewed. Besides, I heard there were at least 60 screws holding the keyboard in place or the battery being soldered to the keyboard on touchbar models or some other ridiculous shit.

Have you used the touchbar? Anyways, I have the 15in model, and the trackpad is already pretty massive, so reducing its size to fit in f-keys in ADDITION to a gimmicky touchbar wouldn't detract from the trackpad at all, in my opinion. (Forgot to mention that I liked the trackpad in my earlier post, though this opinion probably isn't that valuable given my lack of experience with laptops.)

And yeah, I know my dislike of OS X is probably the weakest part of my argument. I use my PC primarily for gaming, which is why I'm on Win7. If I were a developer though, I'd use linux. I don't really see what MacOS has to offer against using both Windows and Linux, but I bet you can easily argue this.

Not at all, if anything it explains the dislike the best. Obviously it's all subjective but if the biggest pro doesn't appeal to you, it's given that you won't like the rest so much.

Though 5 months might be a bit too short, it took me about as long just to end the desire just to roll with bootcamp.

Listing all the stuff that make me like it'd better would take to long, so if I had to pick 1/2 it'd be window management and UI. Whether you're in Office, PS, Itunes or browser, the interface is always predictable and acts the same, and switching between desktops with the 3 finger gesture helps with multitasking a lot. Feels like I got more working space on a small ass 12" screen than with two huge monitors on Windows. Never bothered with Linux for productivity on my personal computers but I guess I could find a tweak that does something similar there though.

Well that's why you dislike MacOS. Use it for anything else and it's one of the most stable nicely designed UI's out there.

Mail and Calandar knocks the socks off anything out there. TimeMachine is a fucking godsend if you're coming from Windows and Apple's displays are always 11/10. Learn the trackpad gestures. Lots of 3rd party apps avaliable around to customize the OS despite what you've heard.

I do have to mention my MBP is on Yosemite indefinetly. I think at one point I tried out the newer iterations and they weren't so great. Too much intergration with the cloud and it broke compatability with a lot of the apps I used daily. I ended up switching to a memepad so I didn't bother figuring it out.
