Are curved monitors a meme or actually useful and comfy?
I'm tempted to get this Asus MX34VQ to replace my old Dell U2412.

meme. also
> 21:9
ultra-wide aspect ratios are literally nothing but a scam to sell you less pixels for the same diagonal "inches".
>>
If you don't do any content creation where straight lines are important, curved can be more immersive if you're close to it for gaming or watching movies, it's a personal preference.

confirmed for never having owned a 21:9 display. Who cares about the total number of pixels, gaming in 21:9 is amazing. I'd take a 3440x1440 ultrawide over a 16:9 4k display any day

ultrawides are memes

what the 4k is 48 inches
>>
I've sat in front of flat 21:9 monitors at work and was surprised how much I liked them.

Now these 32:9 monitors would probably need to be curved to not seem odd.

At least with traditional sizes curved monitors are nothing but a gimmick.

Get a flat panel. I recommend either a pwm panel or oled. 27" @ 1440p is a nice ratio to get a nice panel. I would recommend semi mat finish. NEVER GLOSSY. and mat is acceptable.

meme, specially for gaymen.
>>
Depends entirely on the size of the display. A tiny laptop monitor doesn't benefit from being curved, but a 34 inch 21:9 has a noticeable difference. I use a 29 inch 21:9 curved daily, and it's great.
>>
Ultrawide is not a meme. Curved displays are.

Anything monitor is fine, curved or not, once You use it for a while You'll get attuned to it. In any case though, I still dislike Curved monitors, I got used to it for a while during it's infancy but still got annoyed at it and eventually sold it in favor of a 4K monitor. Then again, it's up to personal taste.
>>
Eh. It's a gimmick, but I wouldn't automatically not consider a curved monitor if it was otherwise good. Not my preference though.

21:9 is pretty great, but /g/ has a hateboner for them because of autism.
>>
cury monitors make me all tingly inside
love them so much

I have a predator x34. I sit about 2 feet from it and I think the curve helps immensly, though I think how much the curve helps depends on the viewing distance. I don't think a curve would be good for anything other than playing games or watching movies
