Keep Windows and don't be stupid next time.

Your riced Linux desktop will also get pwned one day anyway, since most of its code is amateur-tier. At list Windows has isolation and makes progress in security.
>>
>>61110553
Sounds right.
>>
>>61110566
That isolation really is bad...
>>
>>61110592
Install an antivirus with a sandbox, fag. Windows' inbuilt security is trash-tier, all these shitty malware and ransomeware wouldn't exist if that weren't the case.

Since no one has bothered to give a decent answer, I'll take the goddamn bait.

Consider your files as good as gone OP, treat it like a hardware failure and format the drive from BIOS and reinstall Windows.

These retards have no reason to send you a decryption key after you give them the money, they probably don't even have the decryption key, so don't bother.

Take this as a lesson, be more carefull. Stream the midget porn, you don't need that shit saved on your hard drive.
>>
>>61110684
...yeah, won't be un-seeing that for a LOOooooong time.
>>
How did you get infected ?

Nothing to do about it either reinstall Winblows or go full Loonix.
>>
If you haven't fiddled with Linux before there are two obvious choices:
Ubuntu or OpenSUSE. Debian maybe.

Ubuntu: Canonical has done a lot of work to make Ubuntu easy to use, and it is. I've never had any problem with Ubuntu.

OpenSUSE: A bit wackier to install, but not that bad. A program that comes with it, YaST, makes configuring the system super easy.

I can't think of why you would really *need* to use anything like Debian or Fedora right away. If you are unhappy with Ubuntu or OpenSUSE, you can switch, there is nothing wrong with other distros. I just think Ubuntu and OpenSUSE are good starting points,
>>
>>61110494
To be fair, switching Linux + GNU + X.org might still help.

They actually do have very good reason to do it, it's infinitely more lucrative than just nuking the files and hoping some retard falls for the bait.

The files obviously aren't nuked, it's still up to question whether the key was ever received by them.

Ask the old fags who got hit with Wannacry, and paid the money like the retards they are, they found out the ransomers weren't very lucrative after all.

They will break any form of communication, even delete the email I'd, once the amount has been paid, for the fear of being baited by cyberpolice.
>>
>>61111145
This, if people realize that paying is useless then nobody will pay.

That's the FreeBSD guys. Most of the OpenBSD use OpenBSD as their main OS on Thinkpads.
>>
>>61111703
Why your openBSD use openBSD?
>>
>>61111467
That's FreeBSD, and this line of attack still sounds rather defensive. Like, who gives a fuck how an OS is developed? That's no measure of its usefulness.
>>
>>61110312
>So what distro should I install?

None because Gentoo and other distros dont have place in industries and companies. They use pure kernel, no distros.

I just had to pay a ransomware for a client's PC because they didn't have any backups. It worked great. 10/10 customer service on ransomware criminals.
