>Vega Frontier Edition outscored the Titan XP by 33% in CATIA and 55% in Creo benchmarks, along with a massive 81% advantage in SolidWorks. The final synthetic benchmark was the OpenGL-based Cinebench, in which AMD’s Vega ran 17% faster.

>Faster performance for Nvidia cards in these benchmarks would come by way of its Quadro lineup, although we’re talking $4000+ to achieve similar performance.

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
EVEN IF CONSUMER VEGA TURNS OUT TO BE SHIT, NVIDIA IRREPARABLY BTFO IN THE WORKSTATION SEGMENT

get out

>Google Vega to check the news this morning
>autist gets mad when someone uses a link from the search

What's it like, being a wizard?
>>
>>61103788
P4000 is about 900$ though. Did you forget cheaper quadros exist?
>>
>>61103920
Yes, low end quadro exists.

Now, put on our thinking caps, and think.
Are they talking about that $900 quadro?

No, no they are not.
>>
>>61103788
>>>2ch.hk
>>
>>61103949
But Catia and Creo benchmarks are similar to p4000 and p4000 is quite a lot faster in Solidworks. So what's the point of Vega FE?
>>
>>61103920
Are you fucking retarded?
did you not see where Vega is beating the shit out of Titan XP?

Let's compare TXP to P4000...

http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-Titan-X-Pascal-vs-Nvidia-Quadro-4000/m158352vsm7693

wow!
>>
>>61104002
Here >>61103979
Titan X is gimped workstation card which maybe used in meme learning.
>>
>>61104079
What are you trying to say, exactly?
>>
>>61104136
That AMD compared benchmarks with their workstation card to glorified gaming card.
>>
>>61104156
They're comparing by price, numbskull. The article is right, to get similar performance in a workstation environment, you would spend about $4k on Nvidia
>>
>>61103788
>compare a gaming card to a workstation card in compute
>workstation card is better at compute
>for some reason surprised
>>
>>61104223
But p4000 offers similar performance in benchmarks they showed.
>>
>>61104079
>>61104156

Is also 20% faster than the closest priced Nvidia
workstation card

>>61104258
Someone's getting nettled
>>
>>61104276
Show me a relevant bench where p4000 outperforms Titan XP

Have you gone full retard? Do you know that quadros have different drivers?
>>
Vega doesn't use certified drivers you dumbshits.
>>
>>61104395
>Catia 01
>Creo 04

Nice try. Now with the latest versions...
>>
>>61104395
>1900x1060
What the fuck is that resolution? Too bad we don't have more info on the Vega and Titan X scores
>>
>newer card outperforms older card
What a surprise. Are AMD users that used to that not being the case that they think it's something unusual when it actually is?
>>
>>61104648
No, what we're not used to is a $1200 card performing up to par with a $4000 card
>>
>>61104680
The $4000 card has that price because there weren't any competing products. It's called a monopoly. If you're the only one offering something on a certain range, you can price it however the fuck you want.

Launching a $1200 card with better performance for the same application breaks that monopoly. It's basic economics, my man. If the tables were reversed, you can bet your ass AMD would have priced its card at $4000.
>>
>>61104680
>No, what we're not used to is a $1200 card performing up to par with a $4000 card
After the 1800X matched the 6900K at half the price, I'm not surprised by anything anymore. Market monopolies suck.
>>
>>61104702
And that makes Nvidia not scum, and Vega bad, because...?
