I bought a Blu-Ray Boxset from Japan and I'm having trouble trying to remove the AACS protection. Since I do not have a Blu-Ray drive I copied each disc to an ISO file using my PS3 with CFW then transferred the ISO files over to my PC using FTP.

I have tried a pirated version of Anydvd HD and Makemkv but neither works.

Anydvd HD: "ERROR processing Blu-ray disc!"
Makemkv: "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted"

Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you try reading the makemkv faq?
>>
Piracy doesn't have this problem.

MakeMKV can process an incomplete blu-ray disc backup as long as volume key is known for that disc. Incomplete backup is an encrypted backup without a volume id part, the most common case being ISO image from PS3 system or files plainly copied from blu-ray disc. In order to open such disc a disc-specific key must be supplied to MakeMKV via text file in AACS key directory. First, you need to set an "AACS keys directory" in preferences; then you need to put a keyfile with disc for your key into this directory. MakeMKV will scan all files in this directory and will accept key in any format. Group of volunteers maintains a decent key database at http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120988 . Be sure to download the latest keydb_bd file and unpack it into your AACS keys directory.

Woah I didn't expect it to actually mention people copying ISOs from a PS3, interesting.

I bought the BDs solely because No one uploaded them for 4 years anon and wanted to make my own encode to upload.

The FAQ isn't helping all of that information is ~7 years old. The option it refences in the preferences isn't even there anymore.

Make sure you have installed the very fucking latest version of AnyDVD HD and ensure it's set up correctly.

If that doesn't work, DVDFab has a similar program, Passkey.

Other than that, you could play it and capture the stream. I know there are some hardware devices that crack HDCP on the fly, there might be a way to capture it RAW.

I'm using 8.0.5.0 pirated but why does it matter if it's a few versions old?
>Passkey
I'll try it.

You're being immoral, it isn't ethical.
It's japan-only.

Decryption keys are updated all the time. Sometimes more than once in a week. Even if those BDs are old, their keys might not be present in an older version of RedFox's database.
>>
>>61091824
Yes I realize this but there is probably less than a thousand people with these BDs so why does it matter?
>>
>>61091953
Keys aren't restricted to one release in particular, it's usually used by one publisher for several releases in a period of time.
>>
>>61091983
Interesting would be nice If I could check to see if my BDs were supported before buying the software. I still highly doubt the Blu-Rays for this television drama would be in the keys database.

I just don't know where to go from here, I can buy a BD drive but I'm not sure if it will change anything since the ISOs did seem to copy across from my PS3 perfectly fine. I can buy anydvd HD but highly doubt a new version will have the keys...

Multi-region licensed Blu-Ray players are readily available. How is this different?
>>
>>61091216
Upload the raw images and let the Internet crack it
>>
Seems like DVDFAB is working it's processing it atm.
>>
>>61092388
Confirmed working perfectly with dvdfab.
