about 80% of kernel devs are corporate employees that're getting paid to do what they do.

Yeah but a huge amount of the development gets done by weebs
>weebs post on 4chan inspiring new people for one
>as weebs google how to fix their illegal manga viewer and such on linux those google searches increase google's ability to answer linux questions
>even by using linux they may have a problem with it and complain online and every now and then that problem is a major bug and they end up fixing it
>open source systems are gradually improved upon over time
>closed source is all secret
>don't know how it works can't improve it
>if you complain about an issue like a security vulnerability you just get laughed at
>have to beg for support
>in this world it is either your responsibility to fix your own computer or their responsibility to fix your computer
>but the problem is when it is their responsibility they can wave you away and pretend like it's not
>well not anymore
>there is one true os and it's name is gnu
top lel they are probably installing linux right now

It's the 20% that made it viable for the 80% to use linux to get back at each other (see oracle vs Microsoft).
Either way, users get an option to use an operating system that doesn't require you to have a dick up your ass.
DRM, telemetry, no control, and now windows s. how's that dick windows users?

I'd have jumped ship long ago if only Linux had the Adobe Suite and Sony Vegas.
Also video games.
I got debian on dualboot, but since 80% of my time on a PC is spent on said suite and video games, it makes little sense to actually boot into it.

No... no it doesn't.

I don't have basement, but ms will be irrelevant anyway.
