Julia thread? Version 0.6 just hit stable and I'm trying out some of the new goodies.
The language is still pretty much the opposite of stable with core keywords being replaced but it's certainly getting closer to something that is a bit closer to the final form.

Its not an experimental language, its a finished language as much as any other new language and already in professional and academic use. There are always going to be some last minute big changes when any language is being finalized.

Its a top notch general purpose scripting language and is going to completely replace R for data science and push out Matlab in a lot of areas. Im sure its going to start to get used in backend web development and systems administration as more people find out about it.

CLOS-like multiple dispatch is a feature that I wish was present in more languages. For some reason, you only seem to find it in Lisp dialects.
