DSL was the first Linux distro I ever used -- entirely because it was so small, and I only had a (mostly full) 10GB hard drive when I finally got high speed internet and could download a distro at all

it not the same. when I was young and fresh from windows crap, I didn't realize how retard it is to run everything as root on linux. (also since main dev went ubuntu from slackware it lost much of it's charm).
