I was using Windows NT when newer OSes were available, because for my work it just didn't matter.

Also in Silicon Valley here, I chose a MacBook instead of a Lenovo with Linux on it because I'm going to be in a shell the majority of the time and I don't have time to baby sit some teenager's first user interface (Linux desktop experience).
