What often-overlooked features do you find convienent in a code editor? I'm working on a personal one right now and am looking for things to add once I finish the syntax highlighter.

nothing you could do about this but good third party support through plugins, im probably never going to use some editors because of how little custom support there is and im not wasting my time learning how to contribute
a way to access a native shell from inside the editor (weird how editors forget something like this)
good search support / regex pattern matching, though you could honestly just do this by wrapping over a grep and it'd be fine
if it would read my mind that'd be nice
