Realistically how hard would it actually be to throw together a decent browser.
I mean seriously, even what amounts to a years worth of working for a group of gentoomen would be worth it because fuck me if our choices a starting to look like the waste facilities of an indian street kid.
Shouldn't be too hard, I'll get started on the logo.
Browser have been feature racing and standards overbuilding for so long, they're pretty much entire operating systems worth of functionality. Just getting html/css rendering and JavaScript running with anything like 90% of the hellscape that is webdev is a huge challenge. Nevermind trying to match the largest inner systems ever built.
That's why people start their browser project with forking chromium or gecko. You save literally thousands of development hours.

yet we have some retards with netrunner using links2 source code trying to make an over glorified html parser.... why can't /g/ stop being so autistic and fork servo or something
>>61039208
>group of gentoomen
An infinite amount of time. 95% of /g/ has zero actual programming experience and the most they have programmed is toy projects.

How's progress? Got a draft yet?
Use Pale Moon
>less memory than Chrome
>no political bullshit from shitzilla
It's Firefox like it was (perfect).

This. Netrunner is retarded basically because pale moon exists.

At one point, Microsoft had 34 developers working on IE. This was back in the days of IE3/4. Lotta man power and cost to do so for a free product so I'd say significant investment is needed.

that seems like a low number to be honest
for a software product used by a billion people

>>no political bullshit from shitzilla
>implying initiatives to invite women to be programmers is "political bullshit"
Oh, right, because women belong in the kitchen or something.

Nice fallacy.
