You can probably play DaS1 or 2 (maybe not the SotFS version). DaS1's port is horrid, but DSfix helps and it is a pretty "old" game and DaS2's port has no business being as good as it is.

You'll run linear shooters like CoD no problem

A lot of strategy games run fine at 30

So you had stutter/frame drops when moving the camera around? That might be cause by Skyrim having quite a bit of shit to load i suppose. Plus the engine is a bit of a mess.
Go for more "linear" games that have less shit to load at any given time.

If you're into RPGs you should check out cRPGs like Pillars of Eternity or the remasters for Baldur's Gate 1/2. I'd need to know more about your tastes to recommend shit tho.
