GTK is cure evil. Why? Because each version is completely incompatible with previos versions. This means programs that use 1 are fucked. It means most modern distros have both 2 and 3 installed. Some programs use 2 and some use 3 so you have no visual consistency: looks like crap.

GTK was a fucking mistake, being able to target OSX and Linux using Qt with minor changes would've been killer

it would be worthwhile to port vala to Qt, for now everyone relevant just bundles/statically links to Qt
