>thinking about upgrading to a new phone
>realize that I'll have to start carrying around a USB-C charger or adapter because everyone else still uses micro chargers and cables
Why couldn't everyone just stick with micro for a few more years?

>buying a new phone
>expecting to carry a charger
What? I've been charging my phones once every few days for years.
>>61021531
why do you care what other people use?
>>61021531
The same reason people aren't putting VGA on new monitors. If nobody wanted to upgrade, we'd be stuck with the same garbage we used 20 years ago.
>>61021554
Because if they have the same charger he can use theirs.
>Why couldn't everyone just stick with USB C for good?
Fixed.

USB C is dumb. I just want a Passport with USB 3.0 Micro-B

To have port which horizontal and vertical symmetrical is so much nicer thi

I'm not autistic though
>>61022757
Too bad for you, micro usb will be a thing of the past and usb c will be used more and more moving forward
>>61022801
Not like the Passport's ever getting a USB C model either so it's not like it makes much of a difference.
>>61022801
I doubt USB C will ever reach the popularity of micro USB. Considering the way tech is heading I wouldn't be surprised if phone companies remove all ports completely within 5 years.
USB-D will be the future and will surplant C in about 2-3 years when everyone starts to get comfy
USB-D will be a literal square port [-]
this will allow true blind plugging
:^)
USB-E will be the true true future when we all move to lenovo circular connectors that wont even require lining up corners
[=] < [-] < (o)
:^)

Popularity is a nonfactor. At this point, USB C is way too practical to turn down and will replace almost all ports familiar to the everyday consumer. It's a thing where people are forced to adjust to type-C, not the other way around. But you may be right about the no ports thing
Is the world retarted
>Pre iPhone ERA: circle charger = reversable asf
>Android shitty microusb = why no fucking reversable
>USB c = reversable but usb 2.0 speeds?
>>61023218
No you are since you are connecting an usb standard with a phone OS
