sounds like a generic office mouse

Sure but any specific models or brands?
I would go for a cheap Microsoft one but they rarely have back/forward buttons

I mean not really. If all you're looking for is simplicity and reliability thats pretty much every generic HP, Dell or Lenovo mouse. Which isn't a bad thing.

I know dell mice come with this

well pretty much all low-cost mice are built down to a price, not up to a standard.
I would find the cheapest mouse that has the features you want. check /csg/, you can probably pay under five bucks shipped. Then buy three of them. If one breaks, you have two more, and you've still only spent fifteen dollars, which is less than a name-brand mouse would have cost you.

I've been using Logitech M90s for years. Never had one go bad.
They are still in the shops and as long as you get the silent scroll model you're golden.
