Hello /g/. Let's talk about desktop layouts. Which one do you prefer and why? The most popular choices being MacOS (Bottom dock + top panel), Windows (Bottom panel) and Unity (Left dock + top panel).
Personally I like the global menu of Unity and MacOS but hate the dock. It's a huge waste of space as the dock/task list could be placed on the top panel while keeping all of its functionality. Dock isn't a functional task list either and has problems when having duplicate windows of the same program open.

docks serve no purpose than to just show off your icon theme. i3wm with dmenu style launcher is the most efficient.

Two clicks vs. one click. It's also way slower. KDE handles it better but it's slow too.

I never click anyway, I tab through windows (or rather window groups) or use the expo feature.

I like i3.

You're supposed to have it set to autohide.

I could have it on the top panel. Now the top panel is just wasting space. What's some fun stuff to add there?
i3: top bar, i3bar; bottom bar, workspaces
Mate: top bar, menu and icons; bottom middle autohidden bar, windows open
Top panel.
KDE makes having a dock unnecessary. Alt-space to launch anything.

KDE is also bloated, ugly, and buggy as fuck.
