Ubuntu because it's simpler.

Not that debian is hard. I just can't be arsed to configure my desktop or wifi drivers when what I want do do is configure docker, express, react, a database or just do some fucking programming.

As of right now Debian Stable is more up to date than Ubuntu LTS.
It goes without saying that it is more stable too, so no contest there, obviously Debian. Get it while you can.
