I do work for different clients in entirely separate VMs. Often I don't want to shut down while switching between them, so having 64GB of RAM is nice because I can have 2 or 3 idle with another open and still have a full 16GB of RAM to work with.
TL;DR: helps my work in minor ways, I have the money, and my system supports it.
I don't get where the 12 year olds thing comes in, though? I have occasionally had to tell clients to go fuck their mother, but most of them are middle-aged MBA types.
