Thanks for the help /g/oyim, but seriously what happens if I place the iso with no bootloader? How would people install Linux without bootloaders before?

The bootloader is included in the image of 99% of distros. You have to have a bootloader. And no, you can't just drop the ISO into a flash drive. Either dd the image to it or use a GUI tool like Etcher, Rufus, Unetbootin, etc.

Is the image included in this download because it looks like it's just the iso and aren't image and iso the same?

An ISO is a disc image. It's a file format that's meant to be burned to a CD/DVD, but will also work with basically any other storage like hard drives, flash drives, etc. So use a tool like Etcher to write the ISO to the flash drive.

I don't know if those tools wlil work on a mac leopard but which are the distros that include the image?

Is it PowerPC or Intel x86?

Intel, I'm going to check if they run but I won't be able to format it to fat 32.

It should be able to format stuff as FAT with Disk Utility.

Unetbootin appears to work and I just found out how to format it to fat32, thanks for the help.

linux distros do some magic and transform ISO images in disk images...
don't ask me how. I only know there are some tools to do this.
