your internet packets are getting bigger from the heat, clogging the ethernet cable and making it slower
when you turn the AC on the packets go back to their normal size
you just have to keep the ac on any time you want to download

Maybe your power lines are fucked, maybe your network equipment is overheated.

Turning it on probably forces more current to go through a faulty line, bringing it up to the voltages that you actually need normally but only get when you draw a huge current. I don't actually know how electricity works though, fucking wizard shit.

that was my first guess when I noticed turning on the AC fixed it. made it face the modem, didn't help. as soon as turned it off my speed tanked.

thought of that too but everything else is working as intended. then again, I don't know how electricity works either. gonna need to call someone to check it for me.

guess I'm gonna try replacing the power supply, see if it helps.

does your pc have onboard wifi? it be trying to use that but the ac generates interference that forces it to use landline?

Your wiring is shot and drawing tons of current temporarily fixes them, like a severed muffler pipe rattles and clangs while idling but works as intended when you're driving.
