Just got a MIDI keyboard, whats the best Ubuntu software for playing/recording?

Probably not on Ubuntu, but I find EnergyXT i sbest on Windows and you can use the trial version like the full version.
More likely to have linux availability is Temper
>>>/mu/prod/
your choices are: bitwig, ardour, the list goes on and on

I meant EnergyXT2, and it is available for linux.

bitwig?
Ardour, Bitwig, LMMS
Get Ableton Live.
I don't give a shit about your OS. Just get Live and start experimenting with it. You won't regret it.
Windows + Ableton/FL
Bitwig definitely, everything else on linux is shit or really fucking subpar
Pure Data if you want a Max alternative

just get a mac, it's what all of the professional musicians like Skeezy Weezy Dankeezi and Dr. Dre, and Mozart use.

Puredata
It depends on what you want, there really isnt one tool to rule all.
>audacity, but more(basic midi, etc)
qtractor or ardour
>I want to make electronic bleep bloop
lmms(use the git version with carla for vst support) or renoise
