I thought eth was the future of cryptocurrency
This is going to be a strange question here but it's relevant so i'm hoping some of you could help me out.
I'm not particularly knowledgeable on the subject of cryptocurrancy but I have a son and I'm just wondering if one of the very cheap older ASIC miners would be able to make any money at all? He currently gets about $10 a week in pocket-money and I'm thinking that if I buy him one, maybe it'll give him a bit of a headstart in beginning to appreciate the value of money, it will tangibly be coming from something other than my wallet and of course it could also be giving him an interest in something that may become very relevant in the future.
Is this doable? Do you think he could make a couple dollars a week or month?

He'd be better off mowing lawns this summer. Any of the cryptocurrencies you'd be able to 'mine' effectively will never reach the value of BTC, LTC, or ETH.

Fair enough, that's a good enough answer for me.
Thanks man.

This. Teaching him that hard work pays off is better for his future.
You don't want your son falling for memes trying to make easy money.

People already are, they're also contributing to all the missing 580s.
