Because it shouldn't be. Someone needs to say something against this. Sure, they can't change a thing about it, but at least they are trying, who knows. Also, I don't get it how Microsoft can't see the opportunity here. Why create an even less repairable shit machine than a Macbook when they could have built a sleek looking, reasonably accessible machine that actually offers selling points over a Macbook. But it absolutely doesn't, a Macbook Pro is better than this piece of shit in every way.

I think you'll find there is a legit reason for some of this. Like, airplanes and other secure areas. Yes, people like thinner and lighter... But other people and agencies like the fact you cannot open these devices without visible damage, and no place to hide contraband inside the machine. Turn it on, you're clear. Proceed. This is a global market we're talking about here, USA is not the only consideration.

Add up the monthly payments of all that cool shit, and its hard to afford. But just a generation ago, most people just had a mortgage, maybe a car payment. Now we have all these additional bills, which they call "disposable income", but the living wage hasn't really gone up.
