Since I've used windows 10, Its detected every hardware driver in computers I've worked on. cut so many hours off doing fresh installs on people's computers. I don't look back at the hours spent doing fresh installs of xp/7.

its even more fun when you do manage to find drivers and windows wont install them because you have to do some bullshit ati tier ritual of installing, uninstalling, installing multiple drivers at once then uninstalling and reinstalling other ones just to make it work

linux just werks, only drivers I have to install are gpu ones because I actually get the choice of open source or proprietary

Yes, but it's a mixed bag - it's great being able to install Windows 10 and automagically use all your peripherals, but it does screw up sometimes. As an example, a recent nVidia driver update pushed through Windows Update surreptitiously replaced my manually-installed drivers; the new drivers caused my HDMI output to stop working. Thankfully, rolling them back through Device Manager resolved the issue, but it's annoying that it happened at all.

Yep. Makes deploying 10 significantly less of a pain in the ass.

Honestly, even if it was just network drivers automatic I'd be fine with it. The fact that W7 has no generic Ethernet driver is absolutely bonkers.

Yesterday I plugged in a usb wifi receiver.
Needless to say Winblows 10 couldn't find the appriopriate driver so i had to go on another system and download the drivers off the internet, put on a usb dongle, and install manually like in the 90s.
So no.

Don't know about AM4 motherboards but everything else looks like legacy to windows 10.

xp-only 32bit drivers. never worked under win 7 64bit. once on win10 64bit, plugged in, automatically finds drivers. now working fine.

It largely depends on the age of the hardware as compared to the age of the OS, and not whether one Windows provide better support or not.
