Sadly enough, this is actually necessary because of all the garbage that builds up with Windows. There is defrag software, and there is antivirus to keep you safe, but it only delays the inevitable reinstall that you'll have to do to bring your computer back to usable speeds again.

i used to do this as a windows xp/7 user as well until i decided to give linux (xubuntu) a try without any background info on linux, coding or whatsoever. i spent that time i wasted learning how to utilize xubuntu for myself and i haven't even thought about reinstalling my os for months (so far so good).
