Hey /g/ how is the FX502VM as a budget gaming laptop? Missed previous threads about I got one for these specs
>i7 7700HQ
>GTX 1060
>24GB RAM (yes I need this much don't ask why)
>256gb SSD and 1TB 5400rpm HDD
>IPS 1080p screen
total $1241.51 after taxes
How would you rate this purchase? Also god damn the laptop is like 4.9 pounds. Not a fan of the bezels though.

I can't say because I haven't tried it. Don't make that mistake. First, make sure it's got a IPS or AHVA panel, you can't change screen on a laptop and you'll regret getting stuck with a TN. Secondly, find a store that has it and try the keyboard and trackpad.
I've made the mistake of buying a laptop on the internet by specs alone. Don't.

100% sure it's an IPS. I heard mixed things about the trackpad, good things about the keyboard.
How much of a difference is an IPS panel over a TN? Big one? I know the viewing angles are better, but are there other improvements as well?

ive got a g551jw with IPS, it sucks balls because of the incoming IPS bleed and they wont fix that in warranty
>sold this shit a month ago
before that ive got a g55vw with a TN, and wow it was amazing -> even got a TN Freesync for my new desktop build
IPS = IPS BLEED = SUCKS BALLS (as well as ASUS)
thank me later

Hey /g/ how is this as a budget gaming desktop?
>i9 7980XE
>2x Titan Xp (2017)
>128GB ram
>4x 1TB NVMe Samsung 960 pro
>44 inch curved 4K OLED HDR G and FREE SYNC

Meh could've gone for a dual socket xeon workstation, but this'll do I guess.

Some of those Asus laptops have a home key but are missing an end key, replacing it with the power button instead. The person who thought that was a good idea needs to be punched in the face.
>>60926634
>not dual socket i11
>2 titan xp not 4 quadro p5000
>128 gb of ram
>no raid array of pci-e m. 2 ssd
Do not go for this. Abandon ship. Friend's roommate has one, heats and throttles like anything. He plays LoL which is considered a moderate to low graphics intensive game yet after 15 minutes, his framerates drop to 30-40. Probably go for the older G751 series, it's cooling is exceptional. For 1200 bucks, might get the 970m version or the 980m version if there's a sale (newegg)
