When I turn it on, it shows some random boot screen called Intel network boot or something and then it just restarts over and over, sometimes says there is no OS or loads the windows 10 install page and it just restarts immediately. GS doesn't "optimize" anything that isn't sold. The most we would do is setup a few laptops ahead of a big sale so that people who want to grab and go can take a machine home without having to wait for the setup. If they don't want a setup, they get an FF unit.

Most places have a standard 14 or 30 day return policy, with limitations and exceptions.

Anything out of policy is at the discretion of the store. There is nothing unreasonable about that.

At my store, cashier's and sales staff are trained to explain the return policy, especially if the customer is not buying a GS warranty with their product.
