What does /g/ think of the Kate text editor? My impressions:
>Lightweight
>Plenty of features
>You don't need to buy a license
>You don't need to install another copy of Chromium
>You don't need to install a million extensions to make it functional (sorry vim)

I wish it had plugins
All of these describe Sublime perfectly.

Kate was the last good song Arty put out

Maybe, but the CIA uses it, so it can't be that bad.

>You don't need to buy a license
anon you need to buy a license to make the popup go away
>>60920747
You do need a license, but you don't need to buy one. Just use the universal license key!

I don't want a Kateitor! Or a emacsitor! Those aren't even words! ED! ED! ED IS THE STANDARD!!!
I used kate for a while. I eventually just gave up and started using VIM.
>Kate doesn't update the display sometimes. I think it happens when it's writing to a disk for too long
>kate's install size is enormous
>when you reload a document on one side of a split screen, the other side now has a permanent message stuck on top asking if you want to reload
>opening a bunch of files take forever
It's a lot prettier than VIM and has good mouse support, but after a while of using VIM, it really doesn't matter that much to me.
