I tell you a backend java dev thrown into an Android project will feel very lost. I know because I'm trying to do the opposite and when learning backend I was surprised about how much easier everything is compared to Android.

If you are able to navigate the mess called java ee and all its stacks, app servers, certificates, dependency injections and config hell, developing android app will look like child play for you.

Last ide i used (android studio was it called?), you just picked up which api level you want to support and sticked to it. Sure, if your app requires something low level where you do C, it gets messy very fast (and some manufacturers likes to break stuff with each update), but in that case you probably arent one man army developer and have actual team.
