Have Moto x pure 32gb would a Moto G5 plus be a side grade or

It's ugly, the fingerprint sensor is in a wrong and awkward place in the hopes of copying Apple, it's lacking the god tier front facing stereo speakers your phone has, it's UGLY, fuck logos on the front of the phone, less screen to body ratio than your phone, etc etc
It's honestly your decision in the end but keep in mind your phone is gonna get fine updates forever thanks to Lineage
t. Moto X Pure on Nougat 7.1

I've had a Moto G5 for about a week now. It's unremarkable but fine. I have no idea what a Moto X Pure even is, but if you're going to get a new phone, you should probably look into a more impressive phone that will be average in a couple of years, rather than average now.

I've got an x pure and I got a g5 plus for my dad expecting it to be worse/the same as my phone.

I was completely wrong. It's a much nicer phone than the x pure. I'll run down my general thoughts on the two phones.

The x obviously wins in the design department. It's a nice looking phone with a high screen to surface area ratio. The g5 plus on the other hand is ugly and has large bezels.

The performance is pretty much identical, maybe a bit better on the g5 plus.

The x pure is notorious for overheating (sd808) and the g5 plus never overheats or throttles.

The battery on the g5 plus also blows almost any other phone out of the water. You can get like 6-8 hours sot over 2 days.

I would really recommend going for the g5 plus.
