Morning /g/
I'm trying to increase the production value of my podcast and audio quality could definitely be improved. I've been using a shitty £8 headset from Amazon for a few months, whilst it's fine for gaming, it's not exactly fit for this purpose.
Would I be better off buying a XLR mic and phantom power setup or just succumbing to the Blue Jew and buying a omnidirectional Snowball?
Any recommendations on mics as well, would be appreciated.

I was after something a bit more generalised than "buy this Tenor mic". Like specifically, would 48v be better for use than a USB Snowball? I'm not after recording studio quality audio or anything.

I've added a post there

you should be

I suppose I meant, top end, multi channel mixers. A single channel, or maybe two channels, would be sufficient.
Phantom power XLR mic + preamp + XLR to 3.5mm into line in on PC is amazingly good and versatile

who cares about your shitty podcast

yes

Got one of these chink mic + stand for 30€ on AliExpress
Then I got a cheap Beringer USB audio interface for about 35€
The quality is more than acceptable I and you can't get aything better (appart from a second hand miracle) for under 80€

Just get a snowball, all these "cheap" chink mics you see require a £20 phantom power supply ontop and will have way worse quality control / reliability.
