is this true? my 3-4 years old setup is not better than the new 4k xbox 1?
Xbox 1 X is the high end one. The Xbox 1 S is literally just a slim Xbox 1. tl;dr no, your computer is faster but the xbox is close
XB1X has a "custom 16nm CPU at 2.3GHz, 8 core". Previous XB1s used AMD Jaguar-series APUs, but curiously only TSMC manufactures on a 16nm node. It's safe to say imho it's a highly clocked Jaguar. This isn't as big a disadvantage as Bulldozer was for PC because if you program directly for it and nothing else, it's actually really powerful.
Moving to the GPU, the basic number to look at for rough estimation is TFLOPs. The Polaris GPU in XB1X puts out 6TFLOPS, your 1070 puts out 6.5. About equal assuming console releases are more hardware efficient.
RAM wise...is this a mistake on the specs sheet? XB1X has 12 GB of, get this GDDR5. It looks like the GPU shares ram with the system instead of vice versa.
New Xbox1 has GPU of RX480 (GTX 1060 equivalent) and CPU of AMD Jaguar 8 core(low clock cpu with IPC of half your cpu).

That GDDR5 reading confused me too at first. So it's fair to assume the graphics power of the XBX is about on par with the GTX 1070?
