It just seems kinda boring if you isolate the main system from the internet and subsequently limiting your performance by forcing everything you do to be done in a VM.

Performance shouldnt matter assuming you have enough RAM and a SSD. And you're only forcing web browsing through a VM. Technically if you're not even running multiple internet connected VMs you dont need a PVLAN and can just use plain VLANs
