>Like zoinks, Anon! Python is a scripting language, not a programming one. Learn the difference, you thtupid swit.
>A programming language is a formal language that specifies a set of instructions that can be used to produce various kinds of output. Programming languages generally consist of instructions for a computer. Programming languages can be used to create programs that implement specific algorithms.

dumb shaggyposter
while I agree that scripting and programming are two different things (albeit slight and arbitrarily):
>Python is a widely used high-level programming language for general-purpose programming, created by Guido van Rossum and first released in 1991.
errr...

Python is a special case, because it's a scripting language that can be used to write programs, hence it acts like a programming language. There are other scripting languages that can be described as programming languages as well (Ruby for example).
Strictly speaking, a programming language that is not also a scripting language (just a programming language and nothing more) would be a system programming language like C. Python and C are not the same thing, so calling them both programming languages obfuscates the fact that Python is also a scripting language, while C is not.
Y'all need to learn the difference between interpreted languages and compiled languages.

Same shit you faggot. Scripting languages are a subset of all programming ones, but even then definition is fuzzy. I'm sure there are C interpreters out there: what would that fall under?
