>get 1700
>RAM at 2133
>alright cool let's bump this up see if anything improves when it's running its rated speed
>power off
>boot into bios
>3000mhz
>save exit
>computer shuts off
>huh damn it's not stable
>boot back up
>windows splashscreen
>system 32 kernel missing or corrupted
Not even mad I'm just curious if anyone can shed some light on how I accomplished this amazing feat of autism

The board supported that speed of memory, right?
>>
>>60865718
Yeah of course
I'm not that retarded it's a crosshair vi
Pre-memory patch bios though
>>
>>60865697
Just to clarify, but you did change it back, right?
>>
>>60865772
When the motherboard shuts off on an unsuccessful memory boot the RAM speed is automatically reset to default on this motherboard
>>
>>60865786
And is the default the same value you were running before changing it?
>>
>>60865797
Yup

Don't worry, it's not your fault. Windows 10 is known to brick itself when doing fun and exciting things like:
>Running an update!
>Not running an update!
>Sometimes at random!
>When removing bloatware!

You probably just found yet another "Windows 10 broke itself" bug.

Mine worked with 3200C14 out of the box on 0902
>>
>>60866018
These are the best.

Sometimes you get shit failed messages when it actually succeeded but nothing is better than saying it was successful when it wasn't.

i bricked two motherboards, a gigabyte dead on arrival and its replacement died a few months later due to an ungrounded outlet i assumed. but motherboards are pretty finicky i ended up replacing the motherboard and powersupply just to be careful, 99% of the time when a pc is not posting its the motherboard or graphics card.

U mad poo?
>>
>>60866943
>4266 MHz RAM
For what purpose?
>>
>>60866912
>t died a few months later due to an ungrounded outlet
That's not possible, as the power doesn't reach the motherboard without first being processed by the PSU, which would deal with any issues or die trying.

Never ever boot into Windows if you OC RAM without testing it for stability with memtest first. Windows modifies files during boot and RAM data corruption will cause negative effects for you.

Unless you never made it that far, then it's probably something else.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
