I'm still using W7 with classic theme + Manjaro so I stuck a kingdian chink almost free SSD I got with the cakebux into a usb 3.1 external case to run VMs from it to tinker around and sandbox, it werks like a charm

Anyways, I have this VM installed in a secondary computer (just cloned it with acronis) and I can also boot to it using said SSD (you can boot from external drives in enterprise windows)

Ruses aside, this is pretty decent right now but I will ONLY move to it when I have no other fucking way (classic theme is fucking up most modern games and you are forced to enable aero to enable vsync or don't have 15% of your intended FPS)

New to Win10, have a stupid question:

PC didn't come with any recovery or driver discs (lol optical), if I wanted to backup windows incase of whatever, would creating a recovery drive from a thumbdrive include ~everything~ (such as drivers)

I've been running Windows 10 damn near since it came out, on a system that was previously running 8 and 8.1 before then. I have had precisely zero (0) BSOD's in that time frame. None. If the problem was the operating system, everybody would be getting the same errors.

You can turn on oldschool BSOD's so you can see for yourself which kernel module is causing problems. You can also turn on minidump support as well.

By the way, crash handling is something that Windows in general has excelled at for a very long time. Linux has no concept of "minidumps", you either get the whole thing or some bodged-together handler that you have to write per-program that maybe gives you a backtrace. SEH is also superior to anything the *NIX world has to offer.
