The performance increase I saw was dramatic, but unless you have bleeding edge hardware, it's gonna be slow in most cases.

I am almost 100% sure that the whole "windows 10 will be the last windows, and will only receive updates to enhance it" statementis that they just half-assed the whole thing optimizing it only for gaming. I mean, control panel and the settings apps are separate, booting up is 5 minutes long unless you have a SSD, Shut Down is really hibernating, and the bot is real.
