>you can hold 11 microsd cards in this wallet card

11 * 128 gb = approximately 1 terrabyte.

So for every card slot in your wallet you're looking at 1 terrabyte of storage.

That card should have a raid controller and USB 3.1 connector built in.

200 and 256GB MicroSD cards have been a thing for a while. You can buy actual competent 1/2TB SSDs that are wallet sized too.

You can get more storage if you store them in pasta holders

Ok, why? Why do I even need a holder? I could put like 50 in a small fucking weed baggie.

>>60821000
you're memeing but would that be possible?

>>60821000
Given the cost of a 128 gig microSD card it wouldn't be very cost effecting but it would be cool as hell.

Not a necessary long-term solution. SDXC is going to hit its 2TB limit by 2020.

Flash drive RAIDs have been made before.
Would be just as doable with them.
It's not going to be a fast RAID, it's only going to be the redundant RAID. (which itself is a redundant redundant)

Small memory cards can get stupid-hot when being written to constantly.
I've got a USB Flash stick, one of those tiny little ones that barely sticks out, fucking hell they get hot.

But given SSD storage systems still being prone to higher failure than magnetic and optical, it is worth considering if you value data on them.

why can not make at least somewhat fast raid?
2x redundancy while having the speed be that of the slowest drive times half the number of drives?
>>
>make 9001 niggabyte microsd card
>normies will never find a use for that much
>power users will never bother entrusting so much data to such a slow storage that will probably run out of writes pretty soon
Why instead they aren't making a mainstream card of say 8GB that is fast and can do shitload of writes?
>>
>>60826594
Wouldn't the solution in >>60826213 work?
If the data is all duplicated once, then you could hotswap cards when they fail, read speeds would be insane, and write speeds would be tolerable (and isn't giant storage is used for archiving anyway?)

It'd be reasonable fast, but not super fast like some types of RAID people make.
It will be fast enough for people recording average revolution video from typical smartphones and the like.
You could maybe boost the really expensive ones used for >HD resolutions at high FPS, but there could be a chance the cards might suffer due to heat.
Not just heat, but corruption due to so many writes. There was an attack recently that highlighted this issue in flash memory of all types.
>>
>>60826943
one nice SD card can more than handle HD video being written to it

An array with striping and distributed writes, even if it has a little bit of redundancy, would SURELY have bandwidth to spare, no?
>>
>>60826790
Eh I guess that's fair kek. You could even make it so different parts of the input are written to different cards in parallel and then duplicated. That may give somewhat close to RAID1 speeds on RAID0 for short bursts.

It's called Row Hammer.

Why would you store your shit on micro sd cards?
Are 2,5" 2TB HDDs considered hipster-tier now or what?

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
