I've personally used more than that in storage on various cloud sites before when working on a feature films but I'm a video editor who works in a facility with a gigabit connection (raw video is fucking massive) but when its just "personal" storage its almost certainly going to be all porn that no one will ever have the time to watch.

I used to get that urge to "preserve" everything. It's so pointless and only creates misery. Only keep that which has true meaning. There's plenty of data that has value and needs to be preserved publicly... but the shit /r/datahoarders cares about is akin to having a basement full of magazines, newspapers and trash. Personally I have like 3-4 TB of data on my personal drives, with the bulk of it being movies. A 1080p bluray takes easily 50+GB.
Then there's some padding from games (again, 10-50GB for a lot of them), emulator roms (these are mostly 7GB for wii games, others usually negligible, so only contribute like 200GB total), and some miscellaneous torrent files I'm not deleting because I don't need space and I can still seed them.
