Does anyone know why this memory key (Disk 1 Drive F:) has no volumes? Trying to recover data

Does it have a partition table? Honest advice is try a Linux live cd, like systemrescuecd

Thankyou I will try this. Eh don't know how to check partition table. I've never done recovery before figured /g would know a bit more. I've tried most common things but this is the main problem because it can't be accessed to attempt recover.
It's your disk drive

even without a partition table there would be an indication of how much volume the drive has.
it's possible that the drive died and the controller is still working hence it's being detected with no volume.

It's your optical drive

not necessarily.

The icon there looks more like a USB drive, I think the optical is the next one down.

You could try chkdsk /f f:
