is there ANY smart watch out there that fits these basic requirements?

>Lasts 5-7 days on a single charge
>Is (at least) water resistant
>Allows for basic control over your phone such as changing volume, turning wifi on and off, etc.
>Isn't fitness focused
>Costs less than $200

Does this even exist? Why did the Pebble get this right so many years ago?
>>
The first requirement is the only one that is revelant because there are so many that do the others
>>
Pebble does all that, I have a Pebble SE (the second gen one with no heart rate monitor). However them being bought out and basically thrown in the trash by Fitbit for their patents/software makes any Pebble a dubious purchase at this point.

exactly. my pebble is on it's way out after many years of daily use and i need a replacement soon.
>>
I don't think there are any current or planned future smart watches that will touch 5+ days on a charge, and most if not all will do everything else. Until we get better battery tech or OEMs start putting bigger cells in (since most new watches are XBOXHUEG now anyway) wireless radios, power hungry processors and always-on AMOLED/LCD screens will keep raping batteries
>>
>Lasts 5-7 days on a single charge
why is this important? you're going to take it off when you sleep anyway. might as well charge it.

just bought the latest gen pebble for like 70bux and it does all this... until you upgrade to android o beta :)
>>
>>60770726
i never take my watch off.
>>
>>60770726
might work if you are not sleep tracking
>>60769872
still werks, will make it keep working with a old phone that won't get android O. the main thing i want is sleep tracking, everything else is extra.
but as it stands it will keep working with my current phone, and i won't be upgrading for sometime now. got into the pebble train way too late 2bh, damn shame that happened to them

>hey john, why is product the best of its kind
>thankyou for asking steve, its because product is designed for user satisfaction in mind!
>wow thats great, im so glad i purchased the latest product.
Oh look, obvious shilling.

>shilling a ded product
literally why? it's a fire sale for all the devices.
>>
I'm waiting for the Misfit Vapor to come out, it seems to fit all the criteria (except battery life). The Pebble Time 2 would have been god-tier if only they didn't go bankrupt.
>>
Apple Watch Series 2
>>
im waiting for android things / android go to release lower powered devices with a newer kernel (android O based)

physical buttons that can be changed based on the associate program function (by default open firefox for example)

waterproofing is required and a recessed screen to help with damage

touchscreen isnt importang if it has buttons all over the sides (dont let them take up screen space)

since its not touch screen you could sell replaceable shock resistant shells that fit over the screen

OLED screens for perfect blacks and low power + viewing angles

>bonus: eink screen for lower tier models for ultimate battery life

>firewalled and able to port in the connection (adb/ssh/usbhost)

>ability to turn off blutooth/gps/wifi and mainly function over usb

>unlocked bootloader for community development after product updates stop down the road

>gyroscope to sense wrist gestures (tilt snap ect) these can also be mapped to defaults whithin the OS

>vibration function that can be set with xposed modules for different vibrate patterns for certain contacts/email/sms/alarm/notes

one can wish :)
>>
Just buy a damn Pebble. I still use my Time, and there is a cool project over at rebble.io to create a free software OS for the watch.
>>
>>60771690
It's a tragedy, but the hardware is cheap. Buy a bunch before they disappear.
