Let's face it: Intel is botnet and I don't like AMD either. x86 (including the 64 bit extension) is a fucked up architecture which stops throttles human progress in technology.
By Intel not giving out licenses, there's only AMD as a competitor (>inb4 VIA) and this sucks.
I use only Linux anyway and all stuff I use has armhf packages in the Debian repositories. So why not just having an ARM box as main desktop PC so I can stop falling for the x86 jew?
Is there any viable ITX / uATX board with an armv8 CPU (Cortex A73 would be nice of course). If it's an all-embedded board like the RPI it should have just a bit more RAM and possibly a SATA port so I can use my SSD.
I am searching since hours but I can't find anything related. I can't be the only one who wants to just get rid of x86....
The most powerful box I was able to find is an Asus Tinker
I just ordered myself a pinebook btw
Soon(tm)

AMD's botnet is made by ARM
If you think you can escape by going to ARM, you're wrong.
Probably your only actual option is IBM.

please elaborate

who cares about chip architecture?
as long as it supports glibc I'm fine with whatever.
>>60762867
how did you order? You can't buy Pinebook, you can only book an order. I booked mine months ago but they never got to me.
>>60762568
you know nothing about the architecture you are criticizing. shut the fuck up
Just Wait TM until ARM can perfectly emulate x86.

The way they're doing it for those Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 devices is pretty impressive. Basically recompiling/translating the x86 code to ARM and storing the new version locally.
We live in an age where motherboards have "microcontrollers" in them which are basically a fucking CPU, the CPUs themselves have embedded CPUs in them etc.
Everything is spying on you

Everything has microcontrollers in them. Even your tiny thumbnail sized MicroSD cards.

not OP, but I was able to order a few weeks ago after waiting for some months

The new ryzen uses an arm for botneting* your computer
So Even ryzen is not botnet proof
Besides not all arm chips are botnet Free also. Samsung Knox and others also works like backdoor
But I thing that the raspberry pi is free from it for now... Wonder for how long this will work
By saying IBM he meant that core 2 duo ThinkPads are free from the botnet module... I wonder if amd apus are also free from it....

There's POWER8/POWER9, but there are no such consumer devices
