Which C drive folder do your store your stand-alone linux programs /g/?
>opt
>dev
etc
/usr/local/bin
>C drive
>linux
>storing programs in the device directory
whut?
i write up a pkgbuild and install them proper
/dev is a pseudo-filesystem, stuff in there isn't on any physical disk
Scripts and compile experiments go to /usr/local/bin, write and emerge ebuilds for the rest.
for non-free games (native or wine), i have a system where i pack them into a compressed squashfs image, and have a script that mounts them along with overlayfs, into a folder that becomes their own private home, as enforced by firejail
it doesn't really matter where i put them, since they're mounted to the same place, and that's where it's being executed from and saving any changes to

well um /dev/ itself is a folder
>>60754501
yea, but a pseudo-fs is mounted on top of it
you could put stuff in the real "/dev", but it won't be visible during normal operation, as the pseudo-fs will be mounted over it

OP is a dumb nigger, 'nuff said.
Also:
>Storing user programs anywhere other than /home/user/programs
>Manually placing systemwide programs instead of letting the package manager deal with it
Only exception is QtCreator and it's pile of shit that resides in /opt where it fucking belongs.

That's pretty cool
