would it be faster to create an image of the old drive? it's going to take literally a week going around the clock. the source drive is >4 years old, so i'm a little worried it might just die in the middle of being run 24/7 for 8 days

well i stopped being a lazy fuck and just opened the case and connected both drives via SATA. saved myself 7.9 days of transfer time
