I've made a terrible mistake. I can't quite recall all the specifics, but long story short I fucked up my desktop pc by hooking up a laptop hdd and trying to install win10 on it. Partitions (if any) got fucked up and Win10 won't install on them. I'm formating through CMD, 63% right now, but i'm not sure if this is going to work or is it enough for windows to be able to install.
TL;DR: How do i restore my Desktop's HDD to factory-fresh state so i can install Win10?
by not being a retard, this belongs in the stupid questions thread
one of your first mistakes is doing a full, non-quit format because ntfs is shit
the second is not just creating a new mbr/gpt
just use diskpart in cmd, list disk, select disk #, clean disk
then let windows repartition it through the inhstaller since clearly you can't handle this stuff yourself

can i do that after the full format? should i cancel the format? 81% now

CMD
Diskpart
List disc
select disc
Clean
After that just let windows do its thing.
