Do you guys thinks it's safe to hack an gmail account using Hydra from Linux and a basic ass VPN ( from apt-get install) ? I'm asking this as an unexperienced idiot really, just asking out of curiosity
no. now delete your thread

Can you elaborate why not ? i'm really just curious , sorry if it's much of a bother
after about 10 failed attempts google will make you fill out a captcha before you can submit the password. Also if you make too many attempts too quick you get a temp block. so no, you cannot realistically hack a gmail account using hydra.

hm, thank you.. but as in a trace back , is it possible ?
>>60702488
google blocks login attempts from new locations and shows the IP address, so even if you did guess the right password it would most likely block you. Do you know this person IRL, if so maybe a keylogger would be the best option?

It would be very concerning if it were that easy.

>VPN ( from apt-get install)
no my friend. apt-get install is most unsafe for hacking tools. you need to download and compile the code from its source every time you run it, which apt-get simply cannot do. if you run apt-get, you tell nsa that you are a hacker and become on their fbi most wanted watch list. do not use untrusted vpn or kazaa.
>I'm asking this as an unexperienced idiot really
Then no, it is not safe for you to be committing crimes over the Internet.
