I'm not memeing, I'm really considering this.
the intel build would be used parts ofc and adds up to about:
>i5 2500k
>cooler master h40
>1155 mid-high tier mobo
>8gb ram 1600+
=180-200$
Amd ryzen 1400 build is as follows:
>ryzen 1400
>b350 atx mobo
>8gb 3000 ddr4
=310-330$
Let's say the 1400 is about 10-15% or even 20% faster in gayming across the board for argument purpose.
The way I see it,going with the i5 build is:
PRO:
-cheaper, 120$ would go into a better gpu
CON:
-you're wasting money on a mobo and ram u'll not be able to reuse coming next upgrade
-slower-ish
-need sum serious OC both for the CPU, RAM
-no warranty

used xeon on x79 and huanan mobo/16 gb ecc ram will come close to $200. You can pick 6/12 or 8/16 cpu (e5 1650/e5 2660/2670). 1650 will oc to around 4.1 (4.4 if you lucky), ram can also oc. picrel is e5 1660 @ 4.4 / ram @ 1866

Xeons that won't pass all the tests/binning are going down to desktop side of things. They work as same desktop counterparts - e5 1660 is roughly i7 3930K in desktop variant.

Sandy/Ivy bridge time xeons are flooding market few years now, since many datacenters upgrading their hardware. You can find them at any chink-store and probably locally, if you have big-businesses that upgrading/selling their old stuff.
